HOW TO EDIT A LEVEL -- FIRST OF ALL, YOU MUST LOAD A LEVEL, IN ORDER TO EDIT IT -- To edit a level you use the 'Curser' and the 'Pad Bar' on the right of the screen
---- 'WALL' - Used to place a Wall in the play area. [In Cubed, Walls are used to Stop the Cube] ---- 'BLANK' - Used to 'Erase' an object in the play area. [You can use this to 'erase' an object and make it a 'Blank' space. You can also put a Pad over another Pad, for example, if you have a 'Colored' Pad but you want a 'Wall' in it's place, just move the Curser onto the 'Colored' Pad and then click on the 'Wall' icon] ---- 'START POINT' - Used to place a Start Point in the play area. [In Cubed, a Start Point is where the Cube starts. You can only have 1 Start Point in a level, if you put more that one in a level, Cubed will Load the 'Start Point' that's closest to the bottom of the level. If you don't put a Start Point into a level and you 'Activate the Level', Cubed will tell you that there's no Start Point and Quit to the Main Menu] ---- 'SCRAMBLER' - Used to place a Scrambler in the play area. [In Cubed, Scramble Padz will randomly 'Scramble' the Cube until you flip off the Scramble Pad] ---- '6 COLORED PADZ' - Used to place Padz in the play area. [In Cubed, the Colored Padz are what you have to get rid of with the Cube. You have to have at least 1 Colored Pad in each level, or Cubed will go to the next level] ---- '4 ARROW PADZ' - Used to place Arrow Padz in the play area. [In Cubed, when the Cube lands on an Arrow Pad, it can only move in the direction that the arrow is pointing to. Try not to put 2 Arrow Padz pointing into each other, or the Cube will get Stuck, and you will have to Reset the level] ---- '6 WARP PADZ' - Used to place Warp Padz in the play area.[There are 3 sets of Warp Padz (cyan, green, and red) with the # 1 or 2 on them. Place #1 somewhere in the Play area and then #2 (of the same color) in another area and the Cube will Warp to and from the Padz when you land on them (in Cubed)] -- To place an object in the play area, just position the curser in the play area and then Click on an 'icon' in the Pad Bar with the left mouse button and the object will appear where the Curser's at in the play area. [For example, if you wanted a Wall, move the Curser to the position in the play area that you want the Wall at and then Click on the Wall icon on the Pad Bar, and a Wall will appear at the curser's position]
-- After you've created the level, Don't forget to Put a Wall at the top of the Level to 'ACTIVATE' it. (If you don't put a wall there, 'Cubed' will not load the level, and it will go directly to the Completion screen) -- Once you've done everything, then Click on the SAVE button at the top of the screen to Save the level to your File -- Now you can Click on the 'New/Clear' button to start to edit another level |
HOW TO MAKE A 'TIMED' LEVEL
[1] Once you're finished Editing your level, bring the Curser down to the bottom of the screen and onto the 'ON/OFF [time]' slot. 2 buttons will appear under the Curser, a + and - button. Click on the + button to turn the 'Timer' option ON (to turn it off, just press the - button) [2] Once you turn the 'Timer' option on, a # will appear in the 'TIME' slot. Move the Curser to the 'TIME' slot and click on the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the time (If you keep the 'Time' at 0, Cubed will automaticly set the 'Timer' to 2) -- If you turn the 'Timer' OFF and then ON again, then the 'TIME' will reset to 0 -- If the 'ON/OFF [moves]' slot is turned ON, you CAN'T turn the 'ON/OFF [time]' ON (You can only have one of them ON, or both of them OFF for a 'Puzzle' level) |
HOW MAKE A 'MOVES' LEVEL
[1] Once you're finished Editing your level, bring the Curser down to the bottom of the screen and onto the 'ON/OFF [moves]' slot. 2 buttons will appear under the Curser, a + and - button. Click on the + button to turn the 'Moves' option ON (to turn it off, just press the - button) [2] Once you turn the 'Timer' option on, a # will appear in the 'MOVES' slot. Move the Curser to the 'MOVES' slot and click on the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the moves (If you keep the 'Moves' at 0, Cubed will automaticly set the 'Moves' to 3) -- If you turn the 'Moves' OFF and then ON again, then the 'MOVES' will reset to 0 -- If the 'ON/OFF [time]' slot is turned ON, you CAN'T turn the 'ON/OFF [moves]' ON (You can only have one of them ON, or both of them OFF for a 'Puzzle' level) -- To help you out in making a 'Moves' level, use the cube so you can see where the Cube has to flip. ![]() |
HOW TO CHANGE THE WALL COLOR -- If you want to change the Color of the Walls in the level, do the following: [1] Once you're finished Editing your level, bring the Curser down to the bottom of the screen and onto the 'COLOR' slot. 2 buttons will appear under the Curser, a + and - button. [2] Click on the + and - buttons to scroll through the Wall Colors -- Here's the Color's you can choose from: - ORANGE - YELLOW-ORANGE - GREEN - LIME - DARK BLUE - BLUE - DARK PINK - PURPLE - RED-ORANGE - GREY - CYAN - LIGHT GREEN - YELLOW - DARK GREY - RED - YELLOW, YELLOW-ORANGE, ORANGE, RED-ORANGE & RED - YELLOW, LIME, LIGHT GREEN & GREEN - CYAN, BLUE & DARK BLUE - PURPLE, DARK PINK & RED - GREY & DARK GREY - BLUE, DARK BLUE, RED, DARK PINK & PURPLE - YELLOW, LIME, LIGHT GREEN & CYAN - All of the Colors - Random (Cubed picks one of the Color schemes above at random) |
MENU BAR & SHORTCUT KEYS -- The Menu Bar consists of [ Options ![]() ![]()
-- Spacebar [When you Press and hold the Spacebar, the Cube will become transparent so you can see what's under the Cube. Release the Spacebar the make the Cube go back to normal] -- Enter [This makes the Cube go to it's 'Default Position'] -- Click On The Cube [This will bring the Cube to where the Curser is] This is very helpful when making a 'Moves' type level -- Click On First 'Diamond' In Each Row [on the left] [This will bring the Curser to the 'Diamond' that you clicked on] This is used so you don't have to move all the way across the play area to a position you want, just Click on the first diamond in the Row that you want to go to and then move to the position that you want -- Place The Mouse Pointer Over The LOAD Button [when a level is loaded] [When do this, the Curser will Go to Position 1,1 (the first 'Diamond')] |
HELPFUL HINTS -- Remember to put a 'Wall' at the top of the screen to 'ACTIVATE THE LEVEL', if you don't, Cubed will think that it's the last level and will go directly to the 'Completion Screen' -- It's a good idea to make your level(s) and then test them, just in case you made a mistake, like placing a Wall in the wrong place, preventing the Cube from finishing the level -- Remember that when 'Typing in a New Filename', the mouse pointer MUST be somewhere in the 'Edit Box' or you will not be able to type anything in -- Remember that you CAN'T Edit a level until you LOAD one first -- Once you Load a level, you can't load another one unless you Click on the 'New/Clear' button or press 'ESC' |
